Shawn's blog

Check out Shawn's new blog! For those of you that don't know Shawn yet, you will. He has been shooting with me since last summer and will be my second shooter for the rest of the 2010 wedding season. He is super talented and does a ton of great work outside of Honeysuckle. He just got a brand new Canon Mark II camera, so he is also getting into shooting videos along with photography. Expect to see many many more great things from Shawn in the near future. I'm excited to have him shooting with me this summer.

Portland Bridal TV video

Our good friend and office mate - Travis Shields of Shields Films- is starting up an ingenious website where people can meet their wedding vendors via the magic of video. The new site is called Portland Bridal TV and we are featured on the blog right now! PUBLISHED! Destination I Do

On your magazine stands now is the Spring 2009 "Destination I Do" wedding magazine. Inside that magazine (pages 90 + 93 to be exact) you will find some of our photos!! The lovely Teresa Strasser (of the recent Adam Carolla Show) and her husband Dan, had us down to Las Vegas last summer to photograph their destination wedding. We had a blast taking them out to the Neon Boneyard the next day for a special shoot with just Josh and I. The photos published in the article are from that shoot.

So exciting to see our work in a nationwide magazine!! Oh, and yes, we would love more destination weddings. They are the best! If you are planning one, or know someone who is, send them our way :)

Josh's photo on Falling Up's CD cover!

Josh was approached last year by the record company for the band "Falling Up" to see if they could use one of his photos for a CD cover. The band is from Oregon, but they tour all around the west coast and have several CD's already out. Josh and I went to Border's in Corvallis a couple days ago and saw the CD right there on the rack! We couldn't believe it. question: How cool is it? answer: very!

"Through the Viewfinder" opening night

Josh is participating in an art show at J-Cafe in NE Portland along with 5 other photographers that will be up for another month or so. Last night was the opening night and it was such a success! Several friends and family members came by to support all the participating artists. To say the least, I am so proud of Josh and the other artists in the show - Maria, Matt, Blue, Rebecca & Peggy. Please take the time to come by and see the show, the work is phenomenal!

Through the Viewfinder

Josh was asked by some good friends of ours to participate in a local art show at J-Cafe in SE Portland. The opening night is going on tomorrow from 5-7pm. New Vintage Cameras!

Josh and I took the day off yesterday and went thrift store shopping for some new inspiration. We couldn't help ourselves and had to buy some old cameras. We both have a fascination with anything that came before digital. We could have easily bought more cameras but we stopped with these. My personal favorite is the "polaroid swinger." I can't get enough of that bad boy!

office update: new prints!

We just hung some new prints in our office. The space is really starting to come together! Please come by and see us if you are ever in the area.

Update: office pictures

Maggie and I thought we should update our office shots so everybody could see how its coming along. We have been here in the historic Union Station downtown since June. It has been a lot of work, but we LOVE our new home! We kind of have an old-fashioned travelish theme going. Hence the suitcases, and the old TV and radio. There is still work to be done, but it is starting to come together.

One man's trash is another man's treasure! Josh purchased an old camera off eBay this last week. He then converted it to the digital realm. We went out snapping some shots last night near our office with our good friends Thomas and Rahel... and we LOVE the results! These are straight off the camera! No filters, no photoshop. We are going to start snapping a couple shots with this camera when we work and integrate the style into our work.
