Nicole is my cousin and when she contacted us over the holidays about shooting her wedding this summer, we just couldn't have been happier with the idea of working with her on her big day! Here are a few shots from their engagement shoot yesterday. There will be many more posted soon...

New Vintage Cameras!
Josh and I took the day off yesterday and went thrift store shopping for some new inspiration. We couldn't help ourselves and had to buy some old cameras. We both have a fascination with anything that came before digital. We could have easily bought more cameras but we stopped with these. My personal favorite is the "polaroid swinger." I can't get enough of that bad boy!

Chris + Tina's portrait session
I (Maggie) went to school at Oregon State University (GO BEAVS!) and graduated with Tina a couple years back. Tina moved with Chris to Texas so we hadn't seen eachother in a long time. She took us up on our Christmas portrait special while they were in town for the holidays, and we were glad she did! We walked around the Pearl, went out for coffee and took a couple shots with the Christmas lights after the sun went down. A favorite moment for us was when we found a shopping cart and Tina agreed to hop in.

Jeff + Emily's wedding
Emily and Jeff were married just after Christmas in Lake Oswego. We had some treacherous winter weather just days before their wedding, but thankfully it cleared up just in time for the celebration. The snow even created some great backgrounds that we never see here in Portland. Emily and Jeff were so sweet together all day long. Right after they saw each other for the first time during the ceremony, they continued to glance back and forth at one another and smile. It's witnessing those little things that just make our job so fun. It was a pleasure to work with these two!

a parking lot snow castle
On the way to Blockbuster, I found inspiration in a parking lot. Damon has been building a snow castle for 22 hours strait and still has more to work on. It was fun to talk to him for a moment and watch dozens of other people walk by in awe just as we first did. Many people took a moment to stop and ask him a few questions. I was inspired by his dedication, positive attitude and willingness to share something fun with the neighborhood. Hopefully the rain holds off for a couple of days so more people can enjoy his work.
Go see it yourself here: 12010 SE Division St, Portland 97266
(Division and 122nd)
