Just For Art Workshop version 2.0

Josh put on the second "Just For Art" workshop this past weekend here in Portland. It was a complete success! There was almost triple the amount of photographers (14!) and we had up to 10 models working. The theme was "trash the dress." These workshops will keep on coming every month or so and hopefully we can keep exploring more exciting subject matter and push ourselves to create art just for arts sake. Here are some of Josh and my favorite shots from the day.

Cupcakes and Brides! Oh My!

Yes, we teamed up with the wonderful Saint Cupcake again this last weekend. Some newlyweds that are friends of Saint Cupcake's owners came along and modeled with some cupcakes for the shoot. We wanted to do some cross promotion for us as wedding photographers but also for Saint Cupcake to show that they do large cupcake orders for weddings and special events! It is definitely a trend these days and a great one at that! Its nice for guests to be able to choose just one cupcake (or two or three), it also means no one has to cut the cake into 200 pieces... I now waiting on a slice of cake can be excruciating! Oh and... everyone knows it but... cupcakes are way cuter than cakes :)

My brother, his wife and new baby girl stopped by yesterday and we couldn't help but snap a couple photos. She is becoming more beautiful every time we see her - if that is even possible :)

a day in the life: Theo!

Last weekend we met Theo for the first time at Washington Park here in Portland. He just turned one and is full of personality. He either has a look of determination and focus or he has a huge smile that can make anyone laugh at any given moment. Theo's parents and aunt and uncle came along for the session. We had a great time from listening to Theo's dad play guitar to watching Theo taste his first cupcake. Theo's parents own our favorite little cupcake shop here in Portland: Saint Cupcake!! You must go and get some sweets from them, they make everything the best :) Here are some of our favorites along with a slideshow.

Megan & Eric : A Colorado Saint Patrick's Wedding

We couldn't have imagined having a better Saint Patrick's Day this year. We flew out to Boulder Colorado, made some instant friends and family and documented one of the sweetest couples on the happiest day of their lives together. We all had a lot in common from music tastes to the love of our dogs. Not to mention Josh and I had a sweet small ceremony when we were married, so we loved the feel of the day with only their closest friends and family by their side.

Megan & Eric were married in the Saint Julien Hotel in Boulder. Their dogs, Moose & Anabelle participated in the ceremony and did a superior job. It snowed the night before the wedding so the ground and trees were covered in a blanket of white, yet the sun came out and the weather was great for some outdoor photos.

The night ended with dinner, drinks and a little red velvet cake (my favorite!) Megan and Eric have an amazing future ahead of them and we feel honored to have been welcomed into their lives to document their big day. Enjoy some photos from the day and check out the slideshow to see even more.
