a parking lot snow castle

On the way to Blockbuster, I found inspiration in a parking lot. Damon has been building a snow castle for 22 hours strait and still has more to work on. It was fun to talk to him for a moment and watch dozens of other people walk by in awe just as we first did. Many people took a moment to stop and ask him a few questions. I was inspired by his dedication, positive attitude and willingness to share something fun with the neighborhood. Hopefully the rain holds off for a couple of days so more people can enjoy his work.

Portland's 2008 winter blast!

All the news stations are saying this is the worst storm Portland has seen since the 1960's! Josh and I have lived here for just over 7 years and we have never seen anything like this. The city doesn't have the equipment to plow the streets so our little side street is just covered in snow. All of these images were taken within a 1/2 mile of our house. Craziness! Hope everyone living here is staying warm and safe.

p.s. we are dog sitting two schnauzers for the week! It is hard to keep them out of the snow, they just love it! Sophie feels otherwise. She stays bundled up in her doggie bed all day.

Erin + Kevin's engagement shoot

It is perfect timing to be posting these photos as the snow is falling like crazy outside our window as I type. Portland is in the middle of our second winter storm in a week! We got out to meet with Erin and Kevin on the first day of snow last weekend and I'm glad we did because the weather has only been colder and snowier since then. We rarely get snow in this city so it was fun to capture it with such a playful couple. Enjoy and stay warm!

Vegas TTV

Josh and I had some fun in Vegas a couple weeks ago with our TTV camera. We just love the vintage of the images it produces. The first half are from the strip and the second half are from the Las Vegas Airport.

Betsey + John round II

We met up with Betsey and John last week for one last photo shoot in their wedding garb. We had a good time walking around the waterfront and eventually making it over to the East side of the river. We remembered one of our favorite spots - Rejuvenation. They have tons of fun tubs and sinks out back and they were so cool to let us shoot there for a couple minutes. It was definitely a shoot we will remember!
