VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Jennifer Rand, Face Body Beauty

We met Jennifer Rand this past June for the first time and hit it off with her right away. Working with like-minded vendors always makes our job easier and more fun! Not only is she is sweet heart, but she is very talented as well! We asked her to help us with one of Josh's photography workshops in July and she did a fantastic job! The theme was "modern pin-up." It took me a while to get through these photos since it was right in the middle of the wedding season. I finally looked through them today and wanted to post some to show off Jennifer's talent.

I am impressed with her work, that I asked her to do my make-up for our open house party just over a week ago. It confirmed how talented she is and I loved being the client! She put me at ease and made me feel and look great. Thanks Jennifer!

Jennifer owns Face Body Beauty. We highly recommend you contact her for your wedding or other event coming up. Contact her now in fact because she books up far in advance!

Just for Art Workshop #4

Wow! Josh has put together 4 successful photography workshops since Spring this year! They have all had their own twist or theme, and each one brings in new photographers. We have met and worked alongside at least 20 different photographers and I hope Josh plans on keeping these amazing events going because I know it is great to get out and create art just for arts sake. It is so relaxing and great to get in touch with our inner artists every once and a while. Check out some of our best photos from this past Sunday. The theme was modern day pinup.

p.s. Special thanks go out to our friend Jennifer Rand for the fantastic job she did on hair and make-up. Check out her site and hire her for professional hair and make-up! She does weddings :) JENNIFER'S WEBSITE

Just For Art Workshop 3.0

Here we go again! Josh was hard at work planing and executing his 3rd photography workshop here in Portland. It was held in downtown this past Sunday and the theme was "make the dress" Everyone brought materials to make clothing and it was a blast! I never thought I would enjoy the fashion aspect of it, but I really got into it towards the end of the shoot. 13 photographers made it to the workshop and we have 4 amazing models working for us for over 4 hours. Everyone had a great time and I know there are many more workshops to come. Contact us if you have any ideas, want to photograph or even model for us in the future.

Just For Art Workshop version 2.0

Josh put on the second "Just For Art" workshop this past weekend here in Portland. It was a complete success! There was almost triple the amount of photographers (14!) and we had up to 10 models working. The theme was "trash the dress." These workshops will keep on coming every month or so and hopefully we can keep exploring more exciting subject matter and push ourselves to create art just for arts sake. Here are some of Josh and my favorite shots from the day.

Portland Photography Workshop part 1

Josh began planning this project over a month ago with a friend of his. There is a whole culture of girls and women that dress up in what they refer to as "Lolita Fashion" From what I understand of it, it is a style of fashion that developed in Japan and has made its way into America. The dresses, jewelry and shoes are amazing! Very creative, one-of-a-kind pieces. All of the ladies looked great and posed for us for over 4 hours! We started at the Pittock Mansion and then walked around downtown until the sun went down.

There were 6 photographers all together and Josh was the mastermind behind the project. I can't believe the work we got out of the project! It was refreshing to photograph just for fun and have no pressure around the process. We hope to keep up this workshop and start planning new projects soon! If you are a photographer in or around Portland and you want to participate in the next workshop, contact us and we will keep you informed!

These are some of my photos (Maggie). We will post more later! Check back soon!
