Isabelle again!

While we were down in Riverside California last month we were so happy to meet up with our friends and past clients Dustin, Katy and thier daughter Isabelle. We planned a photo shoot the day before Katy's sister's wedding (Trisha and Michael) and we were all looking forward to it for weeks beforehand. Once we got there, the weather went south and not only did it rain - IT POURED all day long. There were no breaks in the sky and we were limited to shooting indoors and under covers outside. We managed to get a couple great photos, but the shoot was cut short due to the lack of options for photo locations.

We still had a great time seeing all three of them again. Isabelle is growing fast, but man is she a fun little girl! She has such a big personality already and is full of smiles. We hope to work with them again soon on a possible road trip through California this year. Until then, enjoy some of the photos from the shoot below.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone!! Josh and I hope you all had a great night last night and are celebrating the start of a great new year today! Nothing beats the feeling of a new year at your fingertips with new opportunities, new people, new experiences, and new life on the way (my sister is pregnant, YAY!!)

This past year was great for us. Our business was successful - We had over 25 weddings! We stopped renting and bought our first house. My brother and his wife welcomed their baby girl this November. There is so much more to mention, but all in all, it was a great year. We are looking forward to all that 2008 brings.

As far as resolutions and such... Josh and I are trying to get healthy once again. Despite all the energy we exude during photo shoots and weddings, the bulk of our time is spent at computers all day long. Not the best for our stealth photographer physiques :) We have started jogging and eating better as of last week. We both hope to be trimmer and feel better by the time Spring hits again in a few months. Wish us the best as we embark on this new way of living.

Kevin & Ashley ~ 12.14.07

Kevin and Ashley are so very sweet! Sweet people on their own and even sweeter when together. Josh and I loved working with them on their engagement shoot this past fall and during their wedding. They were married a couple weeks ago on December 14th down near Independence Oregon at the Green Villa Barn. We had never been there, but were pleasantly surprised at how large the venue was. Kevin and Ashley managed to fill the place with tons of close friends and family.

One of the best moments of the day (for us) was when Ashley was ready to see Kevin for the first time so we could take some photos before the sun set. I approached Kevin and asked if he was ready to see his bride and he looked at me and said "I get to see her now? Really?" He forgot that we were going to do photos before the ceremony as we often do. His look of excitement was so great in that moment. We walked around the property and had some fun with photos in a nearby field as Kevin swung Ashley around in his arms. The ceremony came next. It was powerful and romantic as they became husband and wife. Again, I caught myself tearing up. It's so moving to see two people join their lives together who love and care for each other as much as these two do.

The night was topped off with a giant bucket of rice being dumped on the bride and groom. :) It was quite the send off as they left on their honeymoon.

Did I mention all of Ashley's bridesmaids looked awesome in black and white dresses with red stiletto heels! I loved the look and they were so awesome to fight the cold with us outside for a couple photos before the sun went down.

Michael & Trisha ~ 12.01.07

We had the pleasure of photographing Michael and Trisha's wedding just a few weeks back. They flew us down to Riverside California and it was so great to get out and see new places and meet new people! Everyone invited us in and we felt like we were apart of the family from the moment we met everyone.

Since we had not met in person yet, we were so happy with how warm and kind Trisha and Michael were to us and to eachother. It made it so easy and fun to work with them.

We started off the wedding at Trisha's family's house photographing the ladies getting ready. We were so blown away by Trisha's beautiful dress. Josh and I spent a good 15 minutes photographing it before the day even got started :) Josh then met up with the guys at the church. Trisha and Michael chose not to see each other before the ceremony which made for a powerful moment as Trisha's dad walked her down the aisle. I try not to cry (makes it hard to see when photographing), but it gets so hard sometimes when you witness such amazing moments in people's lives. (have I mentioned lately how much we LOVE what we do!) This wasn't the first time they had me choking up, the whole day was full of love and great moments.
